TORID Association is founded in 1993 in Turkiye . Our members are leading companies in log,lumber,plywood, veneer, particle board ,MDF import , production and export sectors. In recent years we are running projects in cooperation with GDF (General Directorate of Forestry ) and UNDP in Turkiye for Enhancing Usage of Wood Products in Turkiye . Currently we are actively taking place in GEF 7 (Global Environment Facility 7 ) Project named ''Low Cost Energy Efficient Wooden Buildings'' in Turkiye Within the target of reducing carbon emissions ,we are encouraging construction sector for using wood as structural material by introducing engineered wood products such as gluelam, cross laminated timber etc in mid rise buildings . As Sectoral NGO Torid Association , is in close contact with academia and governmental institutions for drawing attention of public to renewable sustainable construction material timber and benefits of wooden buildings from earthquake resistancy perspective TORID Association is also founding member of SOYDER Association which is NGB (National Governing Body ) of PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification ) in Turkiye
