Seed investment round
About
Agrona is raising a $700K seed round to scale its bio-based materials platform that converts agricultural waste into high-performance, low-carbon alternatives to wood and plastic. The company addresses two major global challenges: deforestation driven by wood-based industries and emissions from agricultural waste burning.
Agrona has developed a patent-pending, energy-efficient process using bio-based binders to produce panels compatible with existing manufacturing systems in construction, furniture, and packaging. This enables fast market adoption without infrastructure changes.
The company has validated its technology through prototypes and lab testing, with over $600K in commercial pipeline from real estate developers and manufacturers. Additionally, $300K of the round is already committed from a regional VC.
Funds will be used to scale pilot production, achieve EU certifications, and expand into European markets—starting with Germany—through partnerships and a licensing model that enables capital-efficient growth.
Agrona is positioned to become a scalable platform for sustainable materials, reducing carbon emissions while creating a circular value chain from agricultural waste.
