LX Design Studio is an Austrian architecture and sustainability studio working at the intersection of design, material intelligence, and digital transformation in the built environment. Material Intelligence Platform (in development) Our current development project is the Material Intelligence Platform: an early-stage decision-support tool that helps architects, planners, developers, and asset owners compare material strategies before design is fixed. It maps retain, reuse, refinish, and replacement scenarios across material categories, linking indicative embodied impact classes, circularity pathways, and cost delta ranges into one comparable view. The platform operates as pre-LCA decision intelligence: structured material insight at the stage where choices still have the highest leverage on both cost and environmental outcome. It was publicly introduced through our installation "The Weight of What We Build" at Dutch Design Week 2025 and is currently in prototype development. What we offer today Alongside platform development, LX Design Studio works directly with architecture firms, developers, and built-environment organisations across four areas: Refurbishment material strategy consulting: structured early-stage decision support for renovation and adaptive reuse projects, comparing material retention, upgrade, and replacement pathways across cost and sustainability indicators. AI and digital workflow consulting: helping architecture and planning teams adopt the right digital tools and AI-assisted workflows for their practice size and project context. Sustainability workshops and training: practical sessions on material decision-making, circular design principles, and AI tools for built-environment professionals. Architectural visualisation and floor plan digitisation: 3D modelling, rendering, and floor plan services supporting design communication and documentation. Who we are LX Design Studio is founded and led by Lobna Elgheriani, M.Arch, architect, DENA-certified energy consultant, PhD researcher at TU Graz focusing on energy performance of high-rise residential buildings, and lecturer in building systems and sustainability at TU Graz. With an international background spanning Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East , Lobna brings a cross-cultural perspective to sustainable design and material strategy.
